Who we are

About the foundation

Rudra Shodh Foundation is an independent research foundation advancing knowledge across data, public policy, and social studies — through rigorous research, publications, fellowships, and public engagement.

Our mission

We are an independent research foundation producing scholarship on the social, political, and ecological questions that shape contemporary society. Our work spans empirical data analysis, public-policy research, and the study of culture and knowledge traditions.

Through our centres, journal, and public programmes, we aim to build a bridge between academic research and practical decision-making — making rigorous evidence accessible to policymakers, students, and the public.

History

Founded to address pressing societal challenges, the foundation has grown into a hub for interdisciplinary research, hosting fellows, students, and visiting scholars from across the country and beyond.

Our values

Rigour

Evidence-led, peer-reviewed scholarship that holds up to scrutiny.

Independence

Non-partisan research free from commercial or political influence.

Inclusion

Centering marginalised voices and questions of equity in our work.

Public good

Knowledge shared openly to inform policy and public debate.
